Blue Badge Scheme

The Blue Badge Scheme provides a national arrangement of parking concessions for people with severe walking difficulties that travel either as drivers or passengers.  It allows badge holders parking concessions on-street and on single or double yellow lines so they can park close to their destination.

The CTA has helped organisations using institutional Blue Badges for many years. Now it is using this expertise to help people with disabilities and older people entitled to individual Blue Badges. The helpline calls are diverted to the CTA’s office in Manchester and provides a service for those wanting more information on the Blue Badge scheme.

The bluebadge advice line receives a variety of enquiries such as the use of the Blue Badge when travelling abroad, what the toll concessions are for Blue Badge holders, who they should contact to renew their badge, details of where to park and where to report the misuse of badges.

The operating hours are between 9am and 5pm, but there is a voicemail facility for callers to leave a message after hours. The telephone numbers for the service are: 020 7944 2914 or 0161 367 0009.
