Vehicle Purchasing and Leasing Scheme for CTA Members

With the ever increasing demand for community transport provided by our members the CTA has recognised that assistance and leverage in procurement of vehicles is vital to be able to manage and lower costs. We are conscious that one of the biggest expenses to our members is in procuring vehicles and maintaining them. With this in mind the CTA has reviewed how best it can help its membership source and maintain vehicles and introduced a vehicle purchasing and leasing scheme for CTA members.

In association with UniLink Finance Ltd and Driver Advantage Ltd we have established a vehicle purchasing and leasing scheme. Special discount terms have been negotiated with key manufacturers exclusively for our members.

In most cases the primary procurement options are:

  • outright purchase
  • leasing - contract hire
  • fleet management

Contract hire can be a very effective way of managing your fleet as the risk of ownership such as maintenance and future market value lies with the leasing company whilst the cost of the vehicle is spread over the period of hire (3-5 years). In addition, any transport contracts your organisation are awarded can be serviced by hiring the vehicles for the period of the contract.

Advantages of contract hire:

  • Cost of vehicle is spread over the usage period of the vehicle conserving vital capital;
  • Risk of ownership is transferred to a 3rd party, such as future market value;
  • Maintenance is outsourced and managed by the 3rd party;
  • VAT is charged on the rental cost, spreading your VAT costs.

Access to the Vehicle Purchase and Leasing Scheme is only available to CTA members through the members' area of this website.
