Unit 19

The Compact and community transport

Unit:  19
Day: Wednesday 24th February
Times:  10:30 to 12:30
Unit type:  Seminar

The link between the public sector and the third sector is central to the provision of community transport, given its involvement in both the design and delivery of vital services. Partnership working can sometimes be difficult, and the Compact is there to help establish how the two sectors can work together effectively. This is more important than ever in an environment where community transport is increasingly being called on to deliver public services and engage with commissioning agencies.  Join the Commission for the Compact in this session to find out how the Compact relates to community transport.  You will also hear from the Department for Transport about their Compact Action Plan and the way they plan to integrate the Compact into their work with community transport and the third sector. Compact Voice, the representative body for the third sector on Compact issues, will also be there to contribute, to hear your concerns and to share good practice from the wider third sector
