The Level 1 certificate in health and safety at work is a nationally recognised qualification providing employees or volunteers with a basic knowledge of health and safety in the workplace. This all day course, developed by British Safety Council, includes information on legal issues, the working environment, risk management, consultation, electrical safety, manual handling, fire safety and the use of VDU equipment. Please note that this courses is only available to staff and volunteers from CTA member organisations (CTA membership forms can be submitted with the booking forms). Delegates must attend the full course (units 5a and 5b) and pass a formal, multiple choice examination in order to receive a certificate. The examination will take place on Thursday 25 February (see unit 5C) and is externally marked. Successful delegates will gain a Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) Level 1 qualification. This course carries an additional fee of £10.21.
