The CTA in the English Regions
The CTA works to support its members in the English regions through staff based at offices in London and Greater Manchester. Our work in England is supported by the Department for Transport.
As the largest and most populous country in the UK, England also contains the highest proportion of CTA members.
Our members in England have seen much change in recent years to their operating environment. These changes, which are still ongoing, have led to the CTA developing an annual series of roadshows in each of the eight regions outside London, plus a Policy Conference. In addition to our work with central government, we also wish to support networks of community transport organisations across England.
We have also established a Rural Social Enterprise Programme in the English regions.
Through this work we will be able to ensure that we can support and demonstrate our commitment to deliver social change through leadership, learning and enterprise.
The CTA hosts an electronic networking and information exchange group for community transport organisations in England. It is designed to facilitate communication between CTA members and other community transport organisations and to allow the CTA to better articulate the views of these and other stakeholders in its national policy and advocacy work.
