Project Progress
I am pleased to inform you that your organisation has been selected to participate in the next round of the application process for the Rural Social Enterprise Programme. You are therefore invited to submit a Full Business Plan by 09:00 on Monday 8th March 2010. The Business Plan should at this point also be submitted to a bank for confirmation that they will not lend against it. (This is a requirement of The Social Investment Business who are supplying the loan element of the Programme.)
For those who have already got a business plan, including those who have already submitted it, the plan will need to be revised to include the effects of the grant and loan support available through the scheme, and the employment of a Business Development Manager.
Once the Plan has been submitted I will be visiting your organisation in person to discuss your plan in detail. These visits should last around three hours. Ideally a staff member and a member of your Board/Trustees will be able to attend.
It is planned that these visits will take place in the following weeks:
- 15th - 19th March South-East and South-West Regions (Sussex, Surrey, Bucks,
Gloucestershire & Devon) - 22nd - 26th March Central & Eastern (Warwickshire, Leicestershire, Northants,
Norfolk,&Suffolk)
- 29th March - 1st April Northern (Northumberland, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, Staffordshire
& Derbyshire)
I will be contacting you in the next few days to agree a detailed timetable.
Once the visits have been completed the Business Plans will be assessed by the Project Board on 13th April. Twelve organisations will then be invited to make presentation to the Project Board on 27th & 29th April. (Dates to be confirmed.) The plans will then be assessed by The Social Investment Business to confirm eligibility. This will also involve a visit to your organisation in the period 4th-14th May. We expect to announce the eight participants on 8th June.
Please note that I will be available at Access 2010 should any of you wish to discuss your application informally with me. In the meantime if you have any queries or require advice or support please do not hesitate to contact Norman Rides on 020-7278-2528/07747-020369 or email norman@ctauk.org
