Training and Events

TRAINING

CTA in Wales has development officers who routinely help and support Community Transport organisations to overcome barriers or problems and offer additional guidance about operations as required. However there are occasions where training workshops are the best approach in order to provide the knowledge and skills required.

Training can be particularly valuable in the following situations:

    • As part of the induction process for new staff or volunteers
  • When there have been changes to legislation
  • When developing a new type of service you haven’t delivered before
  • As a refresher to ensure you are addressing all your legal responsibilities
  • To ensure skills and knowledge are broadly shared and understood within your organisation.
  • To invest in your organisation and build confidence among your staff and volunteers

    EVENTS

Community Transport Forums – These are held on a regional basis and provide an opportunity for CTA Wales to update Community Transport operators on key developments, provide an update on projects and new opportunities, as well as giving operators the chance to discuss any issues and celebrate achievements.  These meetings are held on a quarterly basis and are a valuable networking opportunity, helping reinforce the sector and provide informed dialogue with Welsh Government. To find out more, please contact your regional development officer.

Annual Conference – The Annual Conference provides an opportunity for the Community Transport sector in Wales to take stock and look ahead. Bringing together operators and stakeholders from across Wales, the conference facilitates the sharing of best practice and member viewpoints regarding the most pressing issues to be addressed over the next year. We are able to secure prominent speakers to help inform members of the direction of Welsh Government Policy so that the sector can position and align itself appropriately. The conferences are developed to meet the needs expressed by CTA members and so the content and structure of each conference is moulded by the interests and needs of the sector.

The presentations from our most recent conference are available on the reference documents page

Roadshows - Each year, the CTA team based in our Manchester HQ undertake a series of Roadshows around the UK. The purpose of these events is to give members the opportunity to speak with our HQ staff and let them know what matters to you. Similarly, the Roadshows provide a UK wide perspective of the Community Transport sector, ensuring that Wales members are informed about wider developments in Westminster and in other parts of the UK.
