CTA continues to issue permits

CTA takes our ability to issue permits to our members very seriously. In order to continue our role as a designated body it is expected that we may have to amend our application process to ensure members remain compliant. Importantly, we are still issuing section 19 and 10B permits, and intend to continue doing so.

To date we have issued section 19 standard permits to nearly 900 of our members, with over 7,000 permits being issued over the last 5 years. These changes will ensure CTA can retain its designated status and therefore the validity of already issued permits [Section 20 (7)(b) of the Transport Act 1985].

We are working on this issue more broadly as the membership body representing community transport. For more information you can read our blog from Bill Freeman following the Department for Transport’s letter here.

CTA members can download our section 19 or our section 10B permit guidance and application form by logging in to the Members Area of our website.
