The CTA has been working with community transport organisations for more than 20 years, offering a wide range of direct support services to our members and we are recognised by government as the voice of voluntary and community transport in the UK.

On the move with community buses

We supported Catch the Bus Week (29 June to 5 July 2015), a nationwide campaign run by Greener Journeys to raise awareness of the benefits of catching the bus. Here you can find out more about the essential work community buses carry out across Great Britain in connecting people with the places they need to be.

Department for Transport Bus Reform Workshops

The CTA has welcomed the opportunity to share its views regarding proposals for this most significant reform of the bus market.  It has also encouraged its members to participate fully in the debate.

The CTA attended several of the Department for Transport’s (DfT) series of Bus Reform Workshops in locations across England during September and October 2015.  These workshops provided local authorities, bus operators and other interested stakeholders an opportunity to share their views on bus franchising, the Buses Bill and alternatives to franchising. The focus of the events was on bus services in England, outside London.
