How we work

The CTA's overarching aim is to provide effective support and strengthen the work of our members by creating an evironment in which they can prosper, develop and provide much-needed help to those most disadvantaged in society.

Our strategic plan guides the CTA's work . It provides a framework for growth and development and sets out our aims; what we will do to acheive them; and our commitment to improve and build the CTA's organisational capacity. By doing so we hope that we can further help our members improve the sustainability of their vital work across the UK. Countries and regions will increasingly decide what route they will take to deliver the strategic directions and priorities contained in the strategic plan. Strong support from the centre combined with delegated responsibility to our team of country directors will ensure that the success and influence of the whole of the CTA is greater than the sum of its parts.

Each year the Board of Trustees identify a number of priorities from our Strategic Plan for delivery by staff over the ensuing twelve months.  Progress against each of these priorities is summarised in the CTA Annual Review & Impact Report each year.  Additional achievements and our aims for the year ahead are also provided.

The new three-year strategic plan for the CTA has just been published and a copy is available through the link below.
